The problem
Like most local businesses, Shuttersmith relied on word of mouth and an existing site that had never had a real technical SEO pass — no structured data, nothing built for the way search has changed. And search has changed: a growing share of “who does X near me” questions now get answered by an AI assistant that never sends a click. Ranking on Google isn’t enough anymore if ChatGPT, Perplexity, or an AI Overview can’t read your site cleanly enough to recommend you.
What we did
Shuttersmith is the proving ground for Dainty Trading’s productised SEO + GEO service — Audit, Setup, and Growth tiers built for exactly this kind of business. That means a full technical SEO audit, structured data and local-business schema, and generative-engine optimisation work: making sure the site’s factual content — services, service area, pricing, credentials — is written in a way an AI assistant can lift correctly, not just a way Google can index.
Where we are
Since we started tracking in July, the site has had 293 real visits — and of the ones with an identifiable source, the large majority came from Google search, genuine organic traffic it wasn’t capturing before. The GEO half is still in progress (the site’s llms.txt is next up), so we’re not claiming an AI-search win yet — only reporting what the analytics actually show. What’s already real: the work brought in enough new business that the client asked us to build them a second business entirely, a trade-price, self-install spinoff of the same shutters business. We’ll update this page with full before-and-after numbers as the SEO/GEO results mature.
